Generally beauty is defined in what looks good. A good looking girl, a beautiful picture. What one might see or hear. However theres much more to beauty. What may be outwardly beautiful can also be bitter or sour on the inside.
When I was growing up, my parents were the teachers for childrens church where we attended. The lesson was actually about beauty. I remember watching mom prepare for this lesson and I was quite confused. She made cupcakes. Some of them she cut out holes in the middle of the cupcakes and filled them up with toilet paper, then she put on the icing. Some of them she left completely plain. I asked her what they were for and all she would tell me was they were for the lesson on Sunday. I pouted for a little while because i never liked feeling left out.
When Sunday came around and mom and dad taught the lesson, we played a few games, Then it was snack time. Mom brought out the cupcakes and uncovered them. Some of the kids were a bit relieved to see that some of the cupcakes were uniced. However the majority of us went STRAIGHT for the sugar. How surprising do you think it was when we all bit into our cupcakes expecting nothing but sugary sweetness but instead ended up with our mouths full of toilet paper. Imagine the jealousy when we realized that the un-iced cupcakes were really the better choice and the other kids lucked out.
The dictionary give a definition to beauty:

The dictionary give a definition to beauty:
1. The quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest).
The Bible also give a definition.
1 Peter 3:3-4
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.
Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
In todays world it is really hard to keep in mind that Beauty isn't all about how you look. The world has seriously misconstrued the true definition of beauty. The world has commercialized beauty and made it into another thing they can make money off of by making the female population feel like they have to look like a Barbie doll to be beautiful.
Unfortunately they target the younger girls. The ones who are more impressionable than the young women who are in my age range. The ones targeted are the girls who range in ages from 11 to 18. They manipulate you and take advantage of your desire to be Beautiful, Accepted and Loved. They tell you that you need to buy designer clothes, wear make-up, and act a certain way in order to be beautiful. This is simply not truth. It is not in the Bible that you have to dress, act or talk a certain way to be pretty. It's actually quite the opposite.
Regardless of what the world says. YOU are beautiful. God created you. He created you in His own image (Genesis 1:27- So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.) He created you with love and care and He knows everything about you. You are beautiful regardless of how you feel. Other people can say what they want, But the true beauty is whats inside, not whats outside.
True Beauty is Not Seen
Where does the true beauty lie? Within the heart, not the eyeThe eye deceives and the eye is blindIt is the soul where answers you will findNot to search beyond the skin; a disgraceThe beauty within, not upon a faceBut what is beauty? It is falsly termedBeauty is not born, Beauty it is earnedCarry the true beauty within your heartNever from your lips let anger departWithin people you trust, always confideAnd always search for the beauty, that lies inside
